What to do in Turin

Stroll in the Parco del Valentino, with its wide tree-lined avenues, the lawns where students can cool off in the evening, the Rocky Garden and the Fountain of the 12 Months and the fascinating Castle. If you like walking or cycling, the cycle / pedestrian path on the edge of the Po will allow you to follow its slow course through the whole city. A few bus stops you will find the district of San Salvario, the center of the nightlife, where you will find the place of your interest among the hundreds available.

Don't miss a night tour in the center, when the baroque architecture is skilfully highlighted by the lighting. In December, until after the Epiphany, the Luci d'Artista illuminate streets and squares.

Enjoy Bicerin, an ancient drink made from coffee, chocolate and cream in one of the historic bars in Piazza Castello or Piazza della Consolata.

On hot summer days, a walk in the Maddalena Park will give you a little coolness, as well as an unparalleled view of the Alps.

For shopping, go to Via Roma, via Lagrange and via Carlo Alberto, but also to the small streets around via dei Mercanti, where you will find shops with a long history.

The Porta Palazzo market, in Piazza della Repubblica, will cheer you up with stalls full of colorful fruit and vegetables. In the north east corner, look for the farmers' market, who come from the surrounding countryside to sell their products directly.
